The Eclipse @ The Bull & Gate
We all know the score by now - from melodic indie pop to full out rawk, The Eclipse are
as prolific as their mailing list. Bassist Jez's funky purple trousers match his jaunty riffs,
Greg's vocals are angelic - he spreads his arms and the audience see Jesus (it's the
hair). Daniel bashes away on his drums with a massive grin on his face.
Born In A Search For Truth is reminiscent of Oasis, but the rest of the set more than
makes up for that. Perennial favourites Fame and the Closed Up Heart, and Destroyed
Couple waft through the ears like marzipan on toast (a good thing by the way, I like
marzipan... and toast).
White knickers are thrown onto the stage during Through Him To Me, making guitarist
Joel turn red. He recovers to finish with a raucous solo on Different Person. A curtailed
set, but the band definitely impress. The audience go home happy.
