Origins of Boredom
OK, this magazine, why did we write it, and why do we think you should read it?

Well I decided to do this because I was bored. I think this'll e a fun thing to do , and a nice way of expressing yourself in a pretty harmless way. I think you should read this if you pick it up somewhere, reckon it looks interesting, and think you'll enjoy reading it.

The last thing we want to do is try and tell people what to think. If you read something you like and see a film or buy an album off the back of that, great, but I'd be happier if you read something we wrote, and sent us some stuff about a band you reckon we'd like.

What would be even worse would be for us, under the cover of writing a music review or whatever, write an article about ourselves; to let you know, not only how cool, brilliant and obscure we are, but most importantly, how clever as you sigh, mid-review, and reach for the dictionary.

Mark P got it right when he wrote what he thought about journalists in the last issue of his 'Sniffin Glue' punk fanzine. I couldnt really put it in better words so I'll borrow his.

'Writing is for cunts who are scared to show their faces. They've learnt their craft in journalist school or English Language and they cant wait to tell you what they think and half of you out there take it in, don't believe a fucking word .
It's not just the nationals who are bullshitting. Take yer average fanzine (yes there is a few about) journalist. All he is is some frustrated rock star who would love to grow up and become another teenage prodigy like Nick Kent or Janet Suck. Well bollocks to that, if you want to fight, really fight, don't bullshit yer way through print.'

None of us want to be a future Julie Burchill (god help us!), we're just writing this for fun, and we hope you enjoy reading it,
thanks,
